With Art Educator Karen Jackson
Join us for a special workshop honoring the beautiful tradition of Dia de los Muertos. This meaningful and intimate workshop is for anyone interested in creating a Remembrance Altar (Ofrenda) using personal mementos, materials and symbols to celebrate and remember a loved one who has passed. An altar is a place for remembrance, reflection or a meditation, highlighting objects and images to tell a story and give attention to what we value and hold sacred.
Karen Jackson, an accomplished artist, educator, and founder of an art school in Santa Monica, will guide you through the practice. She will demonstrate media techniques as well as provide you with an abundance of decorative elements to enhance your altar’s interiors and surfaces, adding depth, texture, and visual impact.
Whether you're honoring a loved one, celebrating a life transition, or simply exploring a new form of self-expression, this workshop offers a supportive and inspiring space to create from the heart.
